MEET the most desirable Mondeo ever! Ford’s next-generation family favourite will bring new levels of style, luxury and efficiency to the market. Following the latest Fiesta and imminent new Focus, the Mondeo will be a global car.......

.........Inside will be Ford’s most luxurious interior ever, as the car attempts to move closer to upmarket rivals from Audi, BMW and Mercedes. The firm’s SYNC system allows drivers to control virtually any portable media device through steering wheel buttons or voice recognition technology. In addition, the Mondeo will offer lane departure and blind spot warning systems, as well as a rear view camera. A clever Driver Alert set-up uses cameras to recognise when the owner is falling asleep at the wheel, and sounds a warning...........

There will hopefully be a Mondeo Ecoboost owner in KK soon... I took him for a test drive when he was down here in KL.

Izuan, like I said, the Mondeo design look like apek lah. Orang muda macam Uranus tentu tak mahu.   Grin

If they put the same engine in a Focus body then different story. Orang tua macam saya pun mahu.

Eco boost surely live to its name. Tested on SMAX, the acceleration is astounding for a ppl mover. Thumbs up, this time around, same par in term of power output with GTI engine n higher on torque.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Was given a Mondeo 2.3 over last weekend.
Handling as good as the Ecoboost version. Mileage was 44k km, still feel tight.
However engine is really underpower for the chassis, it feel stress when kena tekan. And fuel consumption is high, RM 80.00 for about 200plus km only.

Ecoboost version is the perfect upgrade for this chassis.

If they bring in 1.6 Ecoboost, it may come back to square one as the earlier mondeo was underpowered.

However with the turbo and torque, could improve a liitle.

It'll work. Just a matter of tuning the engine to deliver a higher HP and torque. the new Peugeot 508 body may not be as big as the Mondeo's but it is also using a turbo-ed 1.6L engine. It delivers 156 HP, I believe.

The std 1.6 Ecoboost deliver about 160hp and 180plus NM.

If the they tune it higher, would it overlap the 2.0 Ecoboost target market?

Trend now is using lower CC engine to produce higher output. IE VW and PSA.

Last month when I was at the tyre shop fitting the new rim/tyre combo to my Forte I saw a Mondeo in the same shop doing a tyre swap.

It is a white colour 2.0L Ecoboost. The white is really white. I noticed the new tyres fitted are 235 section and bulges slightly at the sidewall.
This can only mean the OEM alloy rims are 7.5JJ wide. In which case the tyres should be 225 for a best fit.

Anyway I have forgotten what was the OEM tyres.   Smiley
